It didn’t take the Twins long to make that decision on Justin Morneau.

Minnesota announced they are sending their slugger to the 15 day disabled list in a move they hope to be ‘short-term’.

Morneau’s injury has been described as a strained left wrist.  The DL assignment is retroactive to the 10th of June.

The former MVP isn’t positive when the original injury took place.

"“It was weird,” he said. “I don’t know if I aggravated it on a throw up the line because it was a little sore before that. I know it was sometime in the last homestand.”"

Morneau joins Minnesota’s packed disabled list, already including; Joe Mauer, Jim Thome, Jason Kubel and Denard Span.

The Twins will fill their open roster spot Wednesday.  It’s looking like second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka could be the replacement, as he appears ready to return from the DL.
