Angels Hunter Day-to-Day With Bruised Ribs

He fought the wall and the wall won.

This is what Angels’ outfielder Torii Hunter said when reporters asked how he was feeling after his run in with the fence.

"“I’d be in a lot more pain if we lost,” Hunter said. “Right now, I’m on a good muscle relaxant, and I’m kind of high. I feel good.”"

Talk about a quote.

Hunter crashed into the right field wall last night while robbing Gaby Sanchez of a hit.  He was removed from the game and the team later determined that Hunter has bruised ribs.  The Angels are hoping the injury won’t keep him out of the lineup long.

"“He’ll probably miss a few games,” Manager Mike Scioscia said. “But it won’t keep him out for an extended period of time.”"

The timing isn’t the greatest for LA, as Hunter seemed to be finding his groove again at the plate.  Though on the season he’s only been able to hold an OPS of .691, Hunter has hit in 6 straight.  Over that span the 35 year old is 11 for 21 with 3 doubles and 5 RBIs.
