ALCS Game Two Postponed, Rescheduled for Monday

Game two of the American League Championship Series has been postponed as heavy rains are expected to continue throughout Texas.  The start of the ALCS’s second game has been pushed back to Monday afternoon.

Last night’s opener between the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers was stopped twice due to weather, totaling nearly a two hour rain delay.  The downpour, which suspended play in the 5th inning, caused both starting pitchers to leave game one early.  It was the second time this postseason that Justin Verlander had his first start shortened by Mother Nature.

The forecast on www.weather.gov is calling for showers and possibly thunderstorms this afternoon in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, with the chance of rain listed at 90%.  It does look like tomorrow’s game should have no weather-related issues, as the site lists a Columbus Day forecast free of precipitation.
