With Sunday’s scheduled day off, there are no Arizona Fall League scores to report.  Instead, let’s take a look at the numbers of some of the league’s top prospects, Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Wil Myers, etc., and who the AFL’s prime performers have been so far.

There are several members of MLB.com’s top 50 prospects currently playing in the Arizona Fall League.  Let’s see how these highly regarded Minor Leaguers have done so far.

Aaron Hicks (Minnesota Twins) – .097/.263/.161 – 0 2B – 0 HR – 2 RBI – 6 R – 8 SO – 7 BB

Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals) – .111/.172/.185 – 0 2B – 0 HR – 3 RBI – 0 R – 5 SO – 2 BB

Nick Franklin (Seattle Mariners) – .208/.345/.375 – 1 2B – 1 HR – 4 RBI – 5 R – 5 SO – 5 BB

Gary Brown (San Francisco Giants) – .241/.333/.345 – 1 2B – 0 HR – 3 RBI – 5 R – 4 SO – 1 BB

Mike Trout (LA Angels) – .250/.250/.321 – 2 2B – 0 HR – 1 RBI – 1 R – 10 SO – 0 BB

Matt Dominguez (Florida Marlins) – .292/.379/.417 – 0 2B – 1 HR – 4 RBI – 6 R – 4 SO – 4 BB

Wil Myers (Kansas City Royals) – .333/.471/.741 – 1 2B – 2 HR – 6 RBI – 6 R – 6 SO – 7 BB

As you can see, Myers is the only one hitting the ball with any sort of authority.  The Royals farmhand is the lone member of the list with an OPS north of .800.  Harper’s struggles have been pretty well documented, but the rest of the Scorpion’s “vaunted” outfield has also failed to impress thus far.  Mike Trout’s struck out 10 times without drawing a walk, and Gary Brown’s and his OPS of .678 haven’t been much better.

While these may have been the players receiving the most attention entering the Arizona Fall League season, several others have made their presences known by their early performances.  Here’s a look at the best of the AFL so far.

Kevin Mattison (Florida Marlins) – .433/.541/.900 – 4 3B – 2 HR – 11 RBI – 10 R – 8 SO – 6 BB

Jaff Decker (San Diego Padres) – .483/.583/.724 – 2 2B – 1 HR – 9 RBI – 7 R – 6 SO – 6 BB

Mike Olt (Texas Rangers) – .355/.432/.774 – 1 2B – 4 HR – 11 RBI – 6 R – 11 SO – 4 BB

Kevin Munson (Arizona Diamondbacks) – 0.00 ERA – 5 IP – 5 H – 10 SO – 0 BB

Andrew Carignan (Oakland A’s) – 0.00 ERA – 4 1/3 IP – 0 H – 8 SO – 2 BB

Forrest Snow (Seattle Mariners) – 0.00 ERA – 6 1/3 IP – 1 H – 8 SO – 1 BB
