The St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to siogn utilityman Ty Wigginton to a two-year contract, reported to be worth roughly $5 million, according to Ken Rosenthal.

The 11-year veteran is joining his eighth major league franchise and owns a career .263/.324/.438 line and has big league experience at every defensive position except catcher and center field.

Wigginton become a versatile bench bat for the Cardinals who were looking to add some pop. Though he struggled overall last season in Philadelphia, Wigginton did post his seventh consecutive season with double-digit home runs (he’s averaged 18 per season over that span). He will provide depth at the infield and outfield corners.

The 35-year-old owns a .270/.354/.456 career line against left handed pitching.
