As the season progressed, a strange feeling came about when looking at the Boston Red Sox. No, they aren’t the flashiest team in the MLB, but who cares? They have done everything right and found a way to make it to this year’s “Fall Classic”. This year, they have made it happen.

David Ortiz and Shane Victorino both hitting grand slams signified that Boston wasn’t going to lose to the Detroit Tigers. In fact, it wasn’t even a question. From the moment this team stepped on the field in February, there was no doubt.

This is their year.

They are the champs of the American League.

One thing remains to be checked off of Boston’s 2013 check-list… a World Championship.

Sure it can happen, and why not? When you look at this team, you don’t see a team hoping to come away with the crown–you see a team that knows they are going to win it. With everything that is in place, the Red Sox are a team poised to win the World Series in four or five games.

Ever since the afternoon of the terrible Boston Marathon bombings, one phrase has surrounded the city that just seems right.

“Boston Strong”.

I’m not lucky enough to live in the city, but I can tell you that strength is a term that can define the past six months for the Red Sox. There’s been fight… there’s been love… and oh yeah, there’s been a few grand slams here and there.

You might not be fan of Boston sports, but it’s certainly hard not to be impressed with what this team has done this year. Look at the records! Look at the turn-around! Look at the passion surrounding this team! How can you not be impressed with everything?

Something is happening in Boston this year. It might not be what many expected, but the Sox are back in the World Series. Whether it’s “Boston Strong”, “Fear the Beard”, or something like “Find a Way”, fans in Boston are going to have things to say for a long time after this year.

Here’s to a healthy and incredible World Series.
