Are you ready for some baseball?

If so, this weekend will produce a quartet of series in which both teams are in contention for a postseason berth. So what do I mean by “in contention”? A team has to be within five games of a playoff. Well, that’s what we’re going with for now as we have more than a month of baseball action remaining.

Here’s a listing of those games that will have national telecasts:

Friday
Mariners at Tigers – 7:00 PM ET, MLBN (alt.; also MLB.tv free game of the day)
A’s at Braves – 7:30 PM ET, MLBN

Saturday
Yankees at Rays – 4:10 PM ET, FS1
Royals at Twins – 7:10 PM ET, MLB.tv free game of the day
Padres at Cardinals – 7:15 PM ET, FS1
Brewers at Dodgers – 10:00 PM ET, MLBN
Reds at Rockies – 10:00 PM ET, MLBN (alt.; joined in progress)

Sunday
Blue Jays at White Sox – 2:10 PM ET, MLB.tv free game of the day
A’s at Braves – 8:05 PM ET, ESPN

Oh. and in case you haven’t heard, MLB got themselves a new commissioner.
