With less than a month to go before spring training gets under way, there are still some relatively household names to be had in the free agency market. Let the MLB rumors fly.

Dexter Fowler (pictured above) is one of those names. In 2015, he was an integral part of the up and coming Chicago Cubs’ lineup, but was not pursued by the Cubbies because instead they signed Jason Heyward to man center field. Meanwhile, rookie Kyle Schwarber broke out and is slotted to start in left on Opening Day and the club has a lot invested in right fielder Jorge Soler with over $21MM and five years remaining on his contract.

Last offseason, starting pitcher James Shields was still unsigned as of February 10, 2015. That timeframe has just passed, but there are still sone intriguing options for ball clubs to look at. None might have ace potential like Shields, but there are certainly some wins above replacement that could be scooped up by a team if the price is right.
