Giancarlo Stanton hit an absolute bomb Saturday night, the longest home run in the MLB this season. Who else has put an impressive charge into a baseball in the past two years?

StatCast gives fans the ability to attain a deeper understanding and respect for the outstanding athletic feats of professional baseball players.

When StatCast was introduced prior to the 2015 MLB season, nobody knew what to expect. It was lauded as the best way to keep enhanced statistics on all batted balls and plays around the field. Since its birth, it has provided baseball fans with interesting and eye opening perspectives on the incredible athleticism and strength of these professional baseball players.

Often times, StatCast confirms what we already knew; that play we just watched was absolutely incredible. StatCast adds a new depth of appreciation to the athleticism exhibited by these men playing the game they love. It turns a “wow that was an incredible play” into “wow, I can’t believe he hit that ball at 115 MPH.” As baseball fans become more and more interested in the statistical side of the game, StatCast has become an invaluable resource for fans and reporters alike.

StatCast is designed to highlight the outstanding feats of strength that are achieved by the game’s greatest athletes. Since the advent of StatCast, baseball fans across the league have developed an immense amount of appreciation for the sheer strength that is possessed by Miami Marlins outfielder, Gincarlo Stanton. Stanton has become the darling of StatCast and advanced analytics.

His strength has been on display his entire career and never more so than last month when he dominated at the Homerun Derby in San Diego. Saturday night, Stanton once again put his power on display by slamming a 503 ft homerun at Coors Field. This monstrosity of a homerun is long enough to be the longest ever recorded by StatCast.

In honor of Gincarlo and his power, we will be breaking down the five longest homeruns hit during the two year StatCast era, including Stanton’s from Saturday night.
