Miami Marlins: Add Jeff Francoeur in three team trade

The Miami Marlins continue to piece together their outfield by acquiring veteran Jeff Francoeur in a three team trade
The Miami Marlins are not all that comfortable with Ichiro Suzuki in right field. They recently claimed Oswaldo Arcia to help out, but were still looking for other pieces. They are now adding another veteran stick to the mix.

For the Rangers, they get some more international dollars to play with. With all the players they have signed in the international market, like Rougned Odor and Nomar Mazara, they know what they are doing, and they were looking for a little extra money to help them invest more.

Moore is an infielder and was the Rangers’ seventh round pick in last year’s draft out of Central Florida.
The 23 year old has some pop. In 118 games between A ball and High-A, Moore is hitting .263 with an .816 OPS. He’s got 14 homers, 25 doubles and 58 RBI.
The 32 year old Francoeur has been through this before. He was acquired by the Texas Rangers back in 2010 to give them a right-handed bat during their run to the World Series.
So far this season, Francoeur is hitting .249 with a .671 OPS. Against left-handed pitching, those numbers jump to .273 with a .734 OPS. He also provides some defensive value. Per Baseball Reference, Francoeur has saved five runs this season. He’s also had eight assists this season.
The Braves get another minor leaguer to take a look at. As we’ve seen, you can never have enough shortstops in your organization.
For the Marlins, it’s a veteran guy who can platoon vs lefties and play either outfield corner position.
