A’s Claim OF Jai Miller From Marlins

The Oakland A’s recently claimed outfielder Jai Miller off waivers from the Florida Marlins.

Miller, 25, batted .288/.358/.512 in Triple-A last year. He’s a capable center fielder with above-average speed.

The A’s don’t figure to use Miller much in the majors, with Coco Crisp, Rajai Davis, Travis Buck, Gabe Gross, Eric Patterson, Ryan Sweeney, and Michael Taylor (if not more players) ranking ahead of him on the outfield depth chart.

Still, Miller could be a solid fourth or fifth outfielder if given the chance. He’s a major league-caliber player.

Miller struck out in his only career major league at-bat, with the Marlins in 2008.
