After a 15 year career, Rich Aurillia has decided to retire from baseball at 38 years old.  Aurillia told MLB.com’s Chris Haft that he will miss playing the game of baseball, but it is time for a different phase in his life.

Perhaps, that new phase is broadcasting, as Aurillia signed a broadcasting deal to cover the Giants, and that was contingent on him of course not having a place to play.

After signing a minor league deal with the Giants last year, Aurillia hit .213/..256/.259 which were off course from his career averages of .275/.328/.433.  During his 15 year career, Aurillia has had two stops with the Giants, and also was a member of the Mariners, Padres, and Reds.
