Baseball Side of FanSided (5/7)

facebooktwitterreddit

I hope this Friday edition of the Baseball Side of FanSided finds all of you well.  For me personally, this week has been a week of transition.  After 15 months of covering the Royals on a daily basis I have removed myself from the lead position over on Kings of Kauffman.  As my role has grown here at FanSided, my time has been stretched too thin to tend to all the pots I have had on the stove.

I will still contribute over at KoK on a weekly basis, but the bulk of my attention will now be focused on this site as well as on growing the MLB aspect of our network.  Sometimes growth requires change, and that is certainly true in this case.  Hopefully my decision will be to the benefit of Kings of Kauffman, Call to the Pen, the MLB team of writers, and the FanSided Sports Network as a whole.

Enough about me, lets get to the links and news.  […]

Staff Announcements:

We have three new contributing writers to announce this week, and several more are in the works.  First, Anuj Agarwal has joined Nate Proctor on Halo Hangout.  Second, Kris Willis, who also writes for our Atlanta Hawks (NBA) site Soaring Down South, has joined the staff of Tomahawk Take.  Finally, Tom Barkwell has joined the staff of Kings of Kauffman.  Speaking of Kings of Kauffman, to replace me, Michael Engel has been elevated from contributing writer to lead writer.

Help Wanted:

If you are interested in joining our MLB staff to write for one of the listed teams, please don’t hesitate to contact me at thebaseballfish@fansided.com.  We break our staff down into two roles.  Lead Writers are expected to write and publish content on a regular basis.  Contributing Writers are expected to write and publish at least one article per week but are welcome to write more if they choose to do so.

The BBSoFS is a weekly article designed to highlight one article from each of our MLB sites on the FanSided.com Sports Network.  The ultimate goal is to increase the exposure of our MLB team sites, highlight some the work of our writers and in doing so pass along some articles that are relevant to the “happenings” and topics of the week that was.  The BBSoFS also affords me the opportunity to announce new writers to our MLB staff and also to announce staff openings that we have.  Typically this will be published every Friday but from to time, it will be posted on a Saturday.
