Dallas Braden celebrates perfect game by gifting his teammates

To celebrate last Sunday’s perfect game, Dallas Braden will share one of his favorite rare luxuries, Crown Royal XR (“Extra Rare”).  Braden has arranged for each of his teammates to receive a bottle of XR, complete with a personalized embroidered bag, thanking them for their part in this historic event.   Richard Gallagher, of the Crown Royal PR team, took these pictures in the office before the gifts were shipped off.  The bag in the photo is Dallas’ bag and the one they made up for “Pepe,” his mustache tattoo.  (Photos after the jump)

Dallas had this to say about his motivation behind the gift:

"“There is no perfect game without perfect teamwork.  To celebrate this rare moment, I got each of my teammates a personalized embroidered bag and bottle of Crown Royal XR.  I hope this will always remind them of the historic moment we shared together.”"

Dallas Braden has recently been a polarizing figure among baseball fans thanks to his chastising of Alex Rodriguez for disrespecting his mound many weeks ago.  I personally side with Dallas on that issue, but regardless of which side you fall on when it comes to that matter, this is a class move.  I applaud Braden, not only for throwing the 19th perfect game in MLB history, but also for recognizing his teammates for their role in his achievement beyond a few sound-bites.
