New column, new columnist

Tomorrow a new weekly column will debut here on Call to the Pen.  With it, our newest writer will also make his first appearance.  That writer is none other than Motor City Bengals lead writer, John Parent.

John joined the FanSided team back in early February and in the 3.5 months since has published 132 articles on his beloved Detroit Tigers.  If you want to read more about John, you can click here to read his bio.  I know I speak for the rest of the Call to the Pen staff when I say that we are truly elated to have John on board and are excited that his column will be covering an aspect of baseball that has up until now been under-served.

Speaking of that column, What’s Next will focus on the ever-changing landscape of buyers and sellers.   Topics will include, but are not limited to, what managers are on the hot seat, which players could be on the move, and what teams have the biggest need for improvement.

I wish I could say that John’s column will be in addition to our regular Tuesday column On The Level, but unfortunately that’s not the case.  Due to responsibilities and circumstances outside of his writing, Mat Germain has elected to step away from the Call to the Pen for the time being.  While Mat’s CttP tenure has come to an end, he remains a part of our MLB team here at FanSided and will continue on in his role of lead writer over at Jays Journal.  My hope is that Mat will be able to rejoin John, myself, and the rest of the CttP staff down the road.
