Carl Crawford Rejoins Red Sox

After a brief minor league rehab assignment, Carl Crawford is set to rejoin the Red Sox Monday when they begin their series against the Orioles.

Crawford has been out since the middle of June with a strained hamstring.  The 4 time All-Star injured his hammy legging out an infield single.

In his first year with the Sox, Crawford has been everything but what Boston expected when they extended him a $142 million deal.  The left fielder has only been able to put up a line of .243/.275/.384 over 67 games this season.

Crawford did appear to be heating up just before the injury as the 29 year old had reached base safely in 12 of his last 15 games with 5 extra base hits and 10 RBIs.

As many players seem to do, Crawford put up career numbers during his contract year of 2010.  In his final year with the Rays, the speedster held an OPS of .851 with 19 home runs, 30 doubles and 90 RBIs while scoring 110 runs and stealing 47 bases.

Upon activating Crawford Monday, the Sox are hoping to see more of the all around stud that they thought deserved the monster deal they threw at him this winter.
