David Cone Calls Ichiro’s Bat a Chopstick on YES Broadcast

The New York Yankees held off Boston in extra innings on Tuesday. The win meant New York clinched at least a share of first place in the AL East. Unfortunately, the Yankee win won’t be the story of the game.

Yankees broadcaster David Cone, while describing the replay of an at bat by outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, referred to Suzuki’s bat as a “chopstick.”

Not sure how long the video will be active before MLBAM takes it down, but for now at least, you can hear the comment for yourself below.

Big deal……you oversensitive clown. Why don’t you plan to take it to the Supreme Court and defend Ichiro’s honor. He said it…..didn’t mean it as a racial comment……just shut up and go get your black hoodie so you can be in solidarity…….No wonder people feel the need to tip-toe around. No wonder people sue each other because their feelings are hurt. GET OVER IT……..
