One of the top prospects in the Twins’ minor league system is going to be sitting awhile after failing a drug test. Outfielder/Second baseman Eddie Rosario has received a 50-game ban after testing positive for a “drug of abuse,” his second positive test.

A third positive test for Rosario would bring a 100-game suspension. So he probably better stop abusing whatever he’s abusing.

Rosario hit .329 in 52 games for the Twins’ single-A Fort Myers affiliate last season, earning himself a bump up to AA New Britain where he hit .284 with seven homers in 70 games. The Twins sent Rosario to the Arizona Fall League where he hit just .238.

Rosario’s suspension was originally reported back in November but was not confirmed until Saturday.

And the great sports winter continues in Minnesota.
