Tony Plush enjoyed his time in Japan – how could a guy named “Plush” not enjoy a nation that is positively obsessed with furries – but now he’s ready to return to America.

And it seems America is ready to embrace Tony Plush. Or at least there are plenty of MLB teams willing to sign him. Reports are that “multiple clubs” – perhaps as many as 8 – have shown interest in the outfielder also known as Nyjer Morgan, and that Morgan is currently closing in on a deal with one of these teams.

We don’t know yet which team is close to signing Morgan, but if I were a betting individual, my money would be on the Tigers. I don’t know why I think that. I just closed my eyes and that team floated into my brain.

Could be the White Sox I suppose. Or the Royals. My brain keeps zeroing in on that division for some reason.

The 33-year-old Morgan last saw major league action with the Brewers in 2012, hitting .239/.302/.308 with 12 steals an a dWAR of 0.7.
