Atlanta is referred to sometimes as Hotlanta, but Tuesday a winter weather event blew through town, transforming Hotlanta into Snowlanta.

Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman found himself stuck smack dab in the middle of this freakish weather emergency and might have experienced a chilly end had it not been for the heroic actions of a certain legendary former Atlanta third baseman.

The story begins when Freeman finds himself stranded in a snow-related traffic snarl. Following standard 2014 emergency procedures, Freeman puts down his cup of disgusting gas station coffee and tweets with annoyance about the situation.

Thankfully the retired Chipper Jones has nothing better to do than sit around all day on Twitter, waiting for people to call him overrated so he can rip them a new one. Chipper reads Freddie’s distress tweet. Like an old, pudgy Batman, he throws on the camo, fires up the all-terrain vehicle and motors out to rescue the stranded ballplayer.

Chipper Jones, man’s man, hero’s hero.

Now we need to address the way people in the southern part of our nation respond to minor snow events. Calm down people it’s just a little snow! You’ll make it through your day okay just give yourself a little extra time to get to your destination! Is this complicated?

Chipper Jones is evidently the only person in the entire Atlanta metro area who knows how to deal with snow. And that’s sad.
