Craig Biggio has been elected into a Hall of Fame. The Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame. And there’s not a damn thing Murray Chass or Dan Shaughnessy can do about it.

The Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame isn’t run by a bunch of grandstanding putzes who discriminate against players on the basis of suspicion or gut feelings or thinking a guy doesn’t smell right.

The Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame doesn’t have a nose for possible PED users, it just has a nose for hitters.

And Craig Biggio, he was a hell of a hitter.

Biggio’s lifetime stats are Hitters Hall of Fame worthy by any measure. 3,060 hits, 668 doubles, 291 home runs, 1,175 RBIs, 1,161 walks. And he was hit by a pitch more times than anyone in baseball history (285 times).

Getting hit by a pitch is a skill. And yes I know he armored up. He was the first guy ever to take advantage of technology? It’s called being savvy.

Biggio goes into the Hitters Hall on Saturday night in a ceremony at Tropicana Field in Tampa. Johnny Damon and Frank Howard will also be inducted.

Johnny Damon? Oh well…
