Today is all about the Seattle Seahawks, whether you like it or not.

Seattle held the victory parade for their Super Bowl champion Hawks on Wednesday, and only about 700,000 people turned out.

Of course Safeco Field, home of the Mariners, had to get in on the celebration. A giant 12 was put out in centerfield in honor of Seahawks fans, who of course are nicknamed The 12th Man.

Really? Hadn’t heard about that 12th Man thing. It hasn’t been mentioned 50,000 frigging times the last couple weeks or anything.

Safeco also filled up with fans who weren’t able to get into the Seahawks’ CenturyLink Field – or The Link as people like to call it – for the big rally. So yeah, Seahawks enthusiasm is running high in Seattle. They filled up the football stadium and the baseball field for the rally.

That’s the kind of overflowing joy you only see when a city hasn’t won a major sports championship in over a generation. So, live it up Seattle. Today’s your day.

Tomorrow you go back to being just another West Coast city no one really talks that much about.
