Spring Training: Important Mike Napoli Beard Update

I’m happy to report that Mike Napoli has arrived at Red Sox spring training in Fort Myers. And yes, the beard is still on.

Eyewitness Pete Abraham reports that the beard is still glorious.

There had been some concern that the Red Sox’ bearded warriors might elect to go for the clean-shaven look this year. Something about leaving 2013 in the past and forging ahead to a new less-itchy tomorrow.

But so far Napoli at least has resisted the urge to take out the razor. Jonny Gomes on the other hand has begun the process of doing away with the beard.

Even if all the other Red Sox decide to shave, Napoli needs to keep the facial shrubbery. There needs to be at least one sweet beard on the Red Sox or they won’t be the Red Sox.
