When fans tweet at baseball players looking for fantasy advice, 99.9999% of the time they won’t get a response. And then there’s that .0001% of the time when they will get a response.

Congratulations to @IraKates, your tweet was one of the .ooo1% (that stat was not arrived at via scientific means FYI).

@IraKates needed to know who she should take in her fantasy draft, Yu Darvish or David Price. So she went straight to the source, David Price.

Price replied:

I had to look up Yu Darvish’s strikeouts to see if that 498 was accurate (actually I didn’t because 498 would obviously be a record, I just wanted to see how far off Price was). Turns out, 498 is Darvish’s total over two years as a major league pitcher.

498 in two years is still pretty good. Not being a fantasy player, I have no idea if strikeouts matter that much, so I can’t really determine the validity of Price’s advice. Could be sound, could be a load of bull.

Either way, @IraKates had a very cool experience. And David Price made himself a fan for life. See how easy it is?
