John Axford may be a tad erratic as a reliever, but he is money as an Oscar prognosticator.
Sunday night, Axford picked 18 winners on his Twitter. And nailed all 18. I don’t even need a calculator to figure out that batting average.
Axford must have been almost as nervous as the nominees waiting for that final envelope to be opened. And almost as elated as the winners when 12 Years a Slave was announced as the victor.
Somewhat ballsy move by Axford taking 12 Years a Slave over the favored Gravity. But sometimes you gotta go against Vegas. You gotta go with your gut.
Axford had a hunch and it paid off. 18-for-18 in Oscar picks. Not bad Axford.
I await Axford’s NCAA Tourney bracket.
