Lorde meets George Brett, and the circle is now complete

At last, the great pop culture Lorde-George Brett-Royals circle has been closed. George Brett finally met Lorde in person.

The amazing epic story began when baseball great George Brett had a picture of himself and his fans featured in National Geographic.

One day, a young New Zealand lass happened to see the image while paging through a copy of the magazine.

The shot inspired the young lady to write a song that would go on to be a #1 international hit, catapulting her to stardom.

The man who inspired the song would try many times to meet the young lady, finally closing the circle, but scheduling conflicts would always prevent it.

Finally however, Mr. Brett’s schedule opened up and he was able to hang out with Lorde before one of her shows in Las Vegas.

So, finally, the Royal who inspired Royals met the girl who wrote Royals.

And it was…horribly awkward.

It almost makes me wish that Brett had never heard about the song in the first place.
