Miami Marlins fan’s ultimate show of support for Jose Fernandez (video)

Fandom is something that is often taken to varying degrees and everyone goes about displaying that passion in their own way. Some get tattoos. Others wear their team’s gear on a daily basis. Many just simply show their support in their own subtle ways by decorating their homes, offices, cars, or even pets in their team’s colors.

Then there are folks like Andres Salgado.

If you’re not familiar with Andres, then that’s something that ought to change. First, he’s as passionate a Miami Marlins fan as you’re going to find. Anywhere. He’s competed in each of the past two seasons for a spot in MLB’s Fan Cave, narrowly missing the opportunity each year. Watch any of his entry videos and you’ll see that he bleeds teal … err, orange and blue … or whatever color the team happens to be this year (I kid, of course, but Andres has enough paraphernalia to represent it all.). Andres is also a writer at our Marlins site here at FanSided, Marlin Maniac.

Then there’s this:

With Jose Fernandez undergoing Tommy John surgery and lost for the remainder of the 2014 season, Andres felt it was his responsibility to rally the Marlins fanbase to support their fallen star and rally he has. The video was picked up by MLB.com’s On Cloud Conine and has been going viral around Twitter for much of the afternoon.

Marlins fans, it’s on you now. How many of you will be joining Andres in supporting the team a little extra without Fernandez on the bump for the next 12-18 months? It’s about to get a little hairy in Miami.
