During a live announcement on ESPN, the captains for the upcoming Home Run Derby were named.

Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies will head the National League squad, while Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays will lead the American League team. Currently, Tulowitzki and Bautista also share leading their perspective league in votes received for the All-Star Game.

Fans have an opportunity to influence the selections of Tulo and Joey Bats by heading to the fan poll and voting for up to three players from each league.

Here’s the players listed on the poll for the National League

Pedro Alvarez – PIT
Jay Bruce – CIN
Paul Goldschmidt – ARI
Bryce Harper – WSH
Jason Heyward – ATL
Buster Posey – SF
Yasiel Puig – LAD
Giancarlo Stanton – MIA
Troy Tulowitzki – COL
David Wright – NYM

Those on the poll for the American League:

Jose Bautista – TOR
Carlos Beltran – NYY
Miguel Cabrera – DET
Robinson Cano – SEA
Yoenis Cespedes – OAK
Chris Davis – BAL
Prince Fielder – TEX
Joe Mauer – MIN
David Ortiz – BOS
Mike Trout – LAA

Aside from these players, fans may utilize the write-in option as is the case with the All-Star ballot. And yes, there are players on this poll that will not have the chance to participate such as Prince Fielder. That’s due to the fact the poll was released in April along with the ASG ballot.

Keep in mind that the results of the poll do not guarantee that the player from each league receiving the most votes will participate. Although if memory serves me correctly, that’s what David Wright did last year in naming Bryce Harper to the NL squad.

And Harper made the finals where Yoenis Cespedes emerged as the winner.
