MLB All Star Game: National League roster announced

The MLB All Star Game will take place next week and rosters were announced on Sunday evening. The National League squad will have four members from each of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Cardinals.

3B: Aramis Ramirez, Milwaukee

SS: Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado

OF: Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh

OF: Carlos Gomez, Milwaukee

OF: Yasiel Puig, Los Angeles

Tulowitzki, with just over 5.3 Million votes, led all players in the National League but was still third overall.

Stanton was among the top three vote-getters for all outfielders for much of the voting period, but a late surge by Puig allowed him to step over him and into the starting lineup.

Finally, the pitchers named to the team include eight starters and five relievers.

Jeff Samardzija was also named to the NL team, but after being traded Friday evening to the Oakland A’s he will not participate in the game. He will, however, still receive the honor of having been a 2014 All Star.
