This season has been marked by injuries, sadly most of these injuries have been season ending. The majority of which have been due to players having torn ulnar collateral ligaments requiring Tommy John surgery. The latest of whom could be Philadelphia Phillies’ starter Cliff Lee.

Although no official word on Lee’s status has been announced, he was seen shortly after leaving his last start talking about his elbow with teammate A.J. Burnett who knows a thing or two about the Tommy John surgery. Lee was put on the disabled-list and his official diagnosis should be announced by the Phillies soon. After leaving his start on Thursday Lee was asked if he thought he had thrown his last pitch of 2014. He answered,

"“That’s probably the case.”"

Along with Lee, at least nine other players have been put on the disabled list.  While some may have season ending injuries and others are just on the 15-day disabled list each one plays a key part on their teams roster.
