Tuesday night marked MLB’s deadline for teams to tender contracts to arbitration eligible players for the 2015 season. Annually it’s a key date on the offseason calendar – letting teams make decisions on their roster for the coming season, finalizing some payroll-related concerns, and finally dumping a fresh batch of available players onto the open market.
This year a total of 31 players became free agents following their former teams’ decision to non-tender them.
