Atlanta Braves getting involved in Dodgers/Marlins trade

The Atlanta Braves are reportedly getting involved in the trade between the Dodgers and Marlins involving Mat Latos and Michael Morse, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. The trade involves “significant players,” and while both Latos and Morse are both in uniform for the Marlins tonight, one would assume the two are still involved.

A young starter from the Braves will reportedly be going to the Dodgers to be a part of their rotation, and MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reports that Atlanta and Los Angeles had previously discussed A.J. Pierzynski. It’s not clear as to whether he would be involved in the deal, though ESPN.com’s Jim Bowden reports that a reliever will be involved in the deal.

Previous reports had the trade between the Dodgers and Marlins being held up by medical concerns as well as by paperwork, though it appears things have gotten much more complex.
