The rate at which Chicago Cubs World Series championship gear is selling, you could not give it away any faster. Fans are hungry for their team’s championship apparel and Cubs gear is selling at record-breaking numbers.

The joy seen on the face of Kris Bryant as he fielded a softly-hit ground ball and threw it to an eagerly awaiting Anthony Rizzo at first base was shared with Chicago Cubs fans throughout the country as their team won its first World Series title since 1908. As a result, the keyboard-ready fans purchased their championship gear at record-breaking speeds.

According to Fanatics, Cubs gear sold $30 million online within the first 24 hours of clinching the World Series. This wiped out the previous record held by the Kansas City Royals, who snapped their own title drought in 2015. It is said that the rate at which Cubs gear is being sold is eight times the rate Royals fans bought their team’s championship gear in 2015.

Also within the first 24 hours, Cubs gear reached record-setting numbers with $70 million in retail sales. Stores skyrocketed their prices shortly after the game, and yet fans were more than willing to pay the ballooned prices. As a result, Cubs gear became the most lucrative post-game championship market in sports.

Not just baseball. In all of sports.

Their retail sales surpassed the profit made by the Denver Broncos after taking home Super Bowl 50 and the Cleveland Cavaliers, who brought their city its first championship in 52 years.

Although the numbers seem shockingly high, in a way it is almost to be expected. Why shouldn’t Cubs fans pay out of pocket or online to show off their team’s championship? It has been their first opportunity in over 100 years to brag a World Series title and there is not a Cubs fan anywhere who would not be willing to pay any price for their championship gear.
