Baseball Side of FanSided (4/10)

facebooktwitterreddit

The BBSoFS is a weekly article designed to highlight one article from each of our MLB sites on the FanSided.com Sports Network.  The ultimate goal is to increase the exposure of our MLB team sites, highlight some the work of our writers and in doing so pass along some articles that are relevant to the “happenings” and topics of the week that was.  The BBSoFS also affords me the opportunity to announce new writers to our MLB staff and also to announce staff openings that we have.  Typically this will be published every Friday but from to time, it will be posted on a Saturday.

I’m so happy that regular season baseball games are again part of my life.  Week #1 of the season is almost in the books and the San Fransisco Giants, at 4-0, are baseball’s only undefeated team.  On the flip side, the Houston Astros are the only winless team.  Not surprisingly the Giants swept the ‘Stros to open the season.  It’s only been a handful of games, but there are already some surprises.  The Toronto Blue Jays are 3-1, the Los Angeles Angels are just 1-4, and the Royals bullpen is trash.  Okay that last one shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, but the Angels at 1-4?  I know there are plenty more twists and turns yet to be experienced this season and I can’t wait watch each and every one unfold.

Staff Announcements:

Erin Moore has joined Steve Fetch (Lead Writer) over on our Minnesota Twins site, Twinkie Talk, as a contributor.  Vincent Provenzano has elected to move from the lead position to a role as a contributor on Lasorda’s Lair.  Joining Vincent as a contributor on the site is Joseph Lopez who is also the lead writer for our Oakland Athletics site, Swingin’ A’s.

Help Wanted:

If you are interested in joining our MLB staff to write for one of the listed teams, please don’t hesitate to contact us a fansided@gmail.com.  We break our staff down into two roles.  Lead Writers are expected to write and publish content on a regular basis.  Contributing Writers are expected to write and publish at least one article per week but are welcome to write more if they choose to do so.
