Roster Moves (6/30): Arodys Vizcaino injured, Jair Jurrjens activated

See kids, miracles do happen.  The June 30th edition of Roster Moves being published today on schedule.  This rare turn of events was aided by a light day of moves and the large bottle of Mountain Dew I consumed at 10 pm last night.

AL Central:

The Detroit Tigers optioned LHP-Fu-Te Ni (27) to Toledo.  Motor City Bengals covered the move with a dedicated article.

AL East:

RHP-Cla Meredith (27) cleared waivers and accepted the Orioles’ assignment to Norfolk.

The Boston Red Sox signed LHP-Rich Hill (30) to a minor league contract and sent him to Pawtucket.

AL West:

Seattle Mariners C-Eliezer Alfonzo (31) cleared waivers in less than 24 hours and has been sent to Tacoma.

The Texas Rangers called up RHP-Omar Beltre (28) from Oklahoma City.

NL Central:

RHP-Josh Banks (27) cleared waivers and accepted the Astros assignment to Round Rock.

The Cincinnati Reds optioned LHP-Danny Herrera (25) to Louisville.

NL East:

The Florida Marlins outrighted LHP-James Houser (25) to New Orleans after he cleared waivers.

The Atlanta Braves placed pitching prospect, RHP-Arodys Vizcaino (19), on the minor league disabled list.  He has a partial tear in the elbow of his pitching arm and is expected to miss 6 weeks.  Vizcaino was the prize prospect Atlanta received from the Yankees in the Javier Vazquez trade this past offseason.  RHP-Jair Jurrjens (24) was activated from the 15-day disabled list.  To make room for Jair, the team optioned RHP-Cristhian Martinez (28) to Gwinnett.

NL West:

The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned RHP-Carlos Rosa (25) to Reno and called up RHP-Barry Enright (24) from Double-A Mobile.

The Los Angeles Dodgers outrighted RHP-Charlie Haeger (26) to Albuquerque after he cleared waivers.

The Colorado Rockies optioned LHP-Franklin Morales (24) to Colorado Springs and called up RHP-Esmil Rogers (24).
