The Detroit Tigers activated RHP-Ryan Perry (23) from the 15-day DL and optioned RHP-Casey Fien (26) to Toledo.

In a case of swapping spots on the 15-day disabled list, the Minnesota Twins placed 2B-Matt Tolbert (28) on the DL and activated SS-J.J. Hardy (27).

AL East:

No moves to report.

AL West:

Thanks to some soreness in his pitching elbow, the Oakland Athletics placed LHP-Dallas Braden (26) on the 15-day disabled list. RHP-Clayton Mortenson (25) was called up from Sacramento to take Braden’s place in the rotation.

NL Central:

The St. Louis Cardinals placed OF-Ryan Ludwick (31) on the 15-day DL with a calf injury and called up OF-Jon Jay (25) from Memphis.

NL East:

The Florida Marlins called up INF-Donnie Murphy (27) from New Orleans and designated 3B-Brian Barden (29) for assignment.

The Philadelphia Phillies called up 3B-Cody Ransom (34) from Lehigh Valley and designated SS-Brian Bocock (25) for assignment.

NL West:

The San Diego Padres placed OF-Will Venable (27) on the 15-day disabled list.  The move was made retroactive to June 2nd and came as a result of stiffness in his lower back.  To take the spot on the roster, the Padres called OF-Aaron Cunningham (24), who had just been optioned down on June 1st, back up from Portland.

A strained hamstring has shut down Manny being Manny and left the Los Angeles Dodgers no choice but to place OF-Manny Ramirez (38) on the 15-day DL.  The team also called up OF-Xavier Paul (25) and optioned RHP-Ramon Troncoso (27) to Albuquerque.

International Signings:

The Detroit Tigers signed Venezuelan OF-Danry Vasquez (16).

The Atlanta Braves signed Dominican RHP-Mauricio Cabrera (16).
