The June 6th edition of Roster Moves features transactions from only six teams. That’s okay with me since I’ve been recovering from a bout with something akin to the stomach flu yesterday.
(moves after the jump)
AL Central:
No moves to report.
AL East:
The Tampa Bay Rays placed LHP-Brian Shouse (42) on the 15-day DL. This doesn’t come as a surprise since he was still rehabbing his knee when the team signed him to a minor league contract on June 5th.
The Baltimore Orioles placed RHP-Kevin Millwood (35) on the 15-day disabled list and activated OF-Felix Pie (25). They also released 3B/1B-Garrett Atkins (30) after he cleared waivers.
AL West:
The Texas Rangers called up RHP-Doug Mathis (27) and optioned RHP-Omar Beltre (28) to Oklahoma City.
NL Central:
The Cincinnati Reds placed RHP-Aaron Harang (32) on the 15-day disabled list. The move was made retroactive to June 30th and comes as a result of back spasms. To take his place they called up LHP-Matt Maloney (26) from Louisville.
The Milwaukee Brewers placed RHP-Yovani Gallardo (24) on the 15-day DL and activated LHP-Doug Davis (34).
NL East:
The Philadelphia Phillies activated LHP-J.A. Happ (27) and optioned him to Lehigh Valley.
NL West:
No moves to report.
