Last year’s top Draft pick Bryce Harper reportedly hurt his right hamstring while running to third base in a game against the AA-Akron Aeros. He’ll be re-examined on Friday to determine the severity.
Geoff Morrow of The Patriot News broke the injury update from an in-game tweet.
"Mgr. Tony Beasley helps Harper off the field. He’s gone from game. Favoring right foot/leg. Chris Rahl replaces him as pinch-runner at 3rd."
This season Harper is batting .297 with 17 homers and 58 RBIs across two levels. Since his promotion to AA-Harrisburg Senators, Harper is hitting a mediocre .254 with three home runs and seven doubles in 143 plate appearances. Defensively, Harper and his cannon arm has 13 combined outfield assists this season though.
