Los Angeles Dodgers Matt Kemp out of lineup
Los Angeles Dodgers MVP-caliber center fielder Matt Kemp, whose name is a superlative alone, will be scratched out of the lineup for today’s game against the Chicago Cubs at 2:20 PM ET.
Kemp has a tight left hamstring, but he will be able to pinch-hit for the Dodgers this afternoon. The team is just being cautious with their investment, and it could be because of the poor conditions in Chicago.
The injury affects his defensive performance due to the wet and slippery conditions. Kemp will miss a maximum of two games with this minor hamstring injury.
Tony Gwynn Jr. will start in Kemp’s place in center and will show some of the glovework that makes him their main utility outfielder. The Dodgers are wise to take this precaution, and we’ll get to see Kemp continue his monster season before we know it.
