Shutting Down Stephen Strasburg

With the best pitching staff in all of baseball, the Nationals are riding a wave of success to their current first place position in the National League East.  While the season is just 19% completed, the talks around the D.C. area and beyond have turned not only to the Nationals surprising success but to whether or not Washington should continue on with plans to shut Stephen Strasburg down after he hits his innings limit.

Strasburg, of course, is not the only Washington starter having success.  He is the best of the best though.  While the Nats ranked number one in ERA, Strasburg leads the team in ERA.  He currently ranks eighth in all of baseball in ERA.  So with that in mind, do you think the Nationals are doing the right thing and protecting Srasburg’s arm and their future, or do you think they are being overly cautious and may blow a chance at the first postseason berth in Washington D.C. since 1933.
