MLB Game Recaps: Jonathan Lucroy’s 7 RBI Powers Brewers to Rout
Had it not been for Jonathan Lucroy, Zack Greinke‘s performance may have been the topic of
conversation in Milwaukee. The Brewers’ ace tossed 6 2/3 innings, allowed five hits and just one run. He struck out six. But Lucroy’s day was better.
Lucroy went 3 for 5 with two home runs and seven RBI. If that wasn’t enough, he also scored three runs. It was Lucroy’s first time batting in the clean-up spot, and he did not disappoint skipper Ron Roenicke. Lucroy’s career day powered the Brewers to a 16-4 rout of the hapless Twins.
Minnesota dropped to 14-27 on the season and own the worst record in baseball. On the plus side for the Twins, Joe Mauer was 4 for 5 and raised his average to .293.
