MLB Scoreboard: White Sox Walk-Off Winners
The Kevin Youkilistrade wasn’t the only reason for the Chicago White Sox to celebrate yesterday. In a
pitcher’s duel, the White Sox came out on top 1-0 over Milwaukee Brewers. Eduardo Escobar slapped an RBI single in the tenth and brought home Alejandro De Aza for the win.
Jose Quintana tossed a gem for Chicago. He went eight innings, allowed eight hits, and kept the Brewers off the scoreboard. The White Sox bullpen combined for two more innings of shut-out ball while allowing just two more hits. On the other side, Michael Fiers pitched 7 1/3 innings of shut-out ball while giving up just five hits.
Manny Parra took the loss for the Brewers. He pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowed two hits and a walk, and he gave up the RBI single to Escobar.
The win was capped off by news that the White Sox offense could be getting a boost. They traded for Kevin Youkilis Sunday afternoon. The Cubs have struggled with third base. Orlando Hudson was moved from his natural position of second base to play some third. The move had not worked out well for the White Sox so far. Youkilis should plug that hole.
