Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton has been dealing with a sinus issue that has, at times, caused blurred vision. As a result, he’s been in and out of the lineup or leaving games early for a few days now. Apparently, the issues aren’t getting better. After missing Thursday’s game in Los Angeles, Hamilton flew back to Texas to be examined by team doctors.

The Rangers took two of three against the Angels and did so mostly without Hamilton and with Adrian Beltre dealing with an illness. They hold a four-game cushion over second-place Oakland, not only for the AL West crown, but for the league’s best record. In order words, the Rangers would be fine if Hamilton had to miss a few more games here.

You know who else would be fine with that scenario? Miguel Cabrera, who sits just one home run behind Hamilton for the American League lead. Cabrera already holds a sizable edge in the other two triple crown categories.
