It is official, Matt Kemp has been shut down by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kemp, who only played in 73 games this season, will not play another game in 2013. This news comes after the Dodgers 2-1 loss on Sunday to end the regular season. The Dodgers have secured a spot in the post season and will face the Braves in the first round of the playoffs.

"It’s disappointing, but they have been okay without me. I like our chances. – Matt Kemp"

This could possibly be a huge loss for this Dodgers team. He is right, they have been great without him, but he could have definitely helped them in the playoffs. He could have played against a tough lefty and given the Dodgers left fielder Carl Crawford a day off.

"I’ll be the biggest cheerleader, like I have been — the loudest guy on the bench every night. – Matt Kemp"

This was a disappointing season for Kemp as he couldn’t stay off the disabled list. He would finally get healthy and then tweak an injury and have to go back on the shelf for an extended period of time.

Kemp will finish the season with a career low in Home Runs with 6. He will look to get healthy this off season and to be back for Spring Training, fighting for his spot back in that crowded Dodger outfield.
