They’d hold onto their lead in the division throughout the year, but it was far from the run-away victory that many had predicted. The A’s never relented, holding off a push from the Texas Rangers while the rest of the division sat further behind.

Meanwhile Oakland counters with 40 year old Bartolo Colon, who’s 18-6 year with a 2.65 ERA and 1.166 WHIP is arguably the best season he’s had since his 2005 Cy Young winning campaign.
