St Louis Cardinals v Los Angeles Dodgers: NLCS Game 3 Info
Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports
Cards threaten to take commanding lead in series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers need a win at home to prevent the St. Louis Cardinals from taking a 3-0 lead in the NLCS. The Dodgers are at home where they were 47-34 this season. By contrast, the Cards were one of the NL’s better road teams crafting a 43-38 record (FWIW, LA had the league’s best record at 45-36).

Dodgers – LA counters with “rookie” Hyun-jin Ryu (14-8, 3.00 ERA, 1.203 WHIP) in hopes to get a game in the series. He started Game 3 of the NLCS, but was not effective. Ryu pitched only three innings and allowed four runs on six hits. The score was 6-4 when Ryu exited the game. LA won that game 13-6.
Ryu has only faced the Cardinals once. In that outing, which was at Busch Stadium, Ryu pitched seven innings and allowed only a run (unearned) on five hits. The Dodgers took home a 5-1 victory.

No changes afloat for St. Louis.
A lot of mystery surrounding Hanley Ramirez and his rib. Test revealed he had a hairline fracture of the rib where he took a pitch. Tweets from Dylan Hernandez of The Los Angeles Times and Jayson Stark of ESPN state the Ramirez looked good in batting practice. Ken Gurnick of MLB.com tweeted soon after that HanRam claimed he was playing. Hernandez added a tweet saying that Ramirez is on pain killers and has protective padding for his rib.
Proof…
Now, how will this affect him?
There was also some question if Andre Ethier would get the start. With most of the pregame focused on Ramirez, not much was revealed. Gurnick did tweet the he looked tentative whenever he tried to stop. Despite that, Jorge L. Ortiz of USA TODAY would tweet Ethier would start as well.
