Andrew Chafin Removed From AFL Roster

On October 18th, the Arizona Fall League announced via Facebook and Twitter that Andrew Chafin was replaced on the roster by Henry Garcia.  Chafin, the #8 prospect for the Arizona Diamondbacks, appeared in two games for the Salt River Rafters.  The lefty threw 2 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs on four hits, walking three and striking out one.

Garcia appeared in 35 games for Class A South Bend going 7-2 with a 2.35 ERA.  Also left-handed, the 23-year old Garcia pitched 60 innings and allowed 47 hits and 12 walks while striking out 63.  He found his way into the D’backs’ organization after pitching a season in Rio Grande Valley of the Independent North American League.

No immediate word was available as to what precipitated this move.
