In another well-pitched game, the Glendale Desert Dogs shutout the Peoria Javelinas 4-0 on Wednesday. Glendale pitchers only gave up three hits and three walks and were led by starter Alex Meyer (from the deep Minnesota Twins organization) who went four and a third innings giving up no runs on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Nick Wittgren continued to be dominant in the Arizona Fall League with another perfect inning, striking out two. So far in the AFL, Wittgren has pitched five and a third innings and has given up only two hits (no walks) and has struck out 11. The Desert Dogs picked up eight hits including two from Eddie Rosario and Jared Mitchell as well as two RBI from Miami’s Colin Moran.

Once Blue Jays top prospect Aaron Sanchez was out of the game for the Salt River Rafters, the Surprise Saguaros jumped all over the opposition to take an 8-6 victory. Colorado prospects Kyle Parker  and Tim Wheeler had big games for the Rafters: Parker went three for four with a double, two runs and two RBI while Wheeler went two for three with a home run, a walk and three RBI.
