I hope everyone’s huddling around the hot stove as the winter descends (especially here in Canada; we’re supposed to get a snow storm coming in tonight). We have rumors and free agents signings and trades to keep us warm, although the news is slowly trickling in rather than coming in a steady stream. We’re going to keep you up to date for all of that, of course, as it pertains to your minor league favorites.

This week, though, we’ll be starting our Top 15 Prospect series. We’re going to be doing things differently in the past. For our 2014 lists, we’re teaming up with our other FanSided sites to bring you some information from the people who know the teams the best. Our colleagues at the other FanSided MLB sites have fantastic insights into their clubs’ minor league systems and you are going to be the beneficiaries of that.

Another reason why we’re getting some help is that it’s hard to get our own eyes on the prospects ourselves over here at Grading on the Curve (with 30 teams to worry about). We want to be more than just another site that compiles scouting reports and prospect lists from other sources and want to be able to offer you, the fans, more insight. That’s where the great FanSided Network comes into play with dedicated writers who have tremendous knowledge about the teams that they cover every day whereas we only have limited time and ability to follow the thousands of players in minor league baseball.

This week, we”ll start by rolling out our Top 15 prospects from the Toronto Blue Jays. I’ll be relying less on our friends at Jays Journal (our FanSided sister site for the Blue Jays) because, well, I am one of those friends at Jays Journal. I just finished a post over there about an honorable mention candidate for the Top 30 list that they do over there and I’ll be releasing my Top 20 at my own site, Blue Jays from Away in due course, so I’ve got the Blue Jays prospects covered.

We’ll target the AL East first and make our way through the rest of the league. Don’t forget to add your feedback in the comments. Who are your top prospects for your favourite teams?
