Day Two of the annual Winter Meetings is upon us and we’ll be here covering every rumor, trade and signing as it relates to the minor leagues and the  top prospects of baseball.

4:40 PM

The other shoe drops and it appears that the Athletics have traded Brett Anderson to the Rockies for lefty Drew Pomeranz and righty Chris Jensen. It doesn’t seem like a huge return for Anderson. Jensen has posted solid numbers for the Rockies’ minor league clubs since being drafted in 2011 but is 23 and has only reached High-A Modesto. Pomeranz has had his struggles at the major league level and pitched will in Triple-A Colorado Springs. Getting into a pitchers’ park like O.co Coliseum might help Pomeranz greatly.

3:50 PM

The previously reported three-way trade has come to fruition as reported with A.J. Schugel (reported by Jack Magruder) being one of the unnamed prospects that the Angels are sending to Arizona.

1:20 PM

Keith Law of ESPN is reporting on a potential three team trade that would send OF/1B Mark Trumbo to the Diamondbacks, outfielder Adam Eaton to the White Sox, and starters  Tyler Skaggs and Hector Santiago to the Angels. Bob Nightengale stated that the teams are “optimistic” that a deal will be completed. Eaton and Skaggs were each very recently among the Diamondbacks top handful of prospects, although each has struggled in brief major league stints. Santiago, by contrast, was never among the White Sox top prospects, but he’s had major league success, posting a 3.51 ERA in 23 starts last season.

With the Diamondbacks unwilling to part with Archie Bradley and the Mariners holding tight to Taijuan Walker, one GM opined that the Dodgers could be in ideal position to land David Price. (Ken Rosenthal Twitter)

7:10

Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers, in one of his many statements of the past 24 hours, informed Joel Sherman of the NY Post that he believes his team has the prospects to get any available player in baseball. Armed with former top 100 prospect Tyler Skaggs, current top 100s Archie Bradley, Chris Owings, and Matt Davidsion, and a wealth of depth underneath, he may not be off base
